HAPPY HOLIDAYS....Here's to the Memories!

HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
It’s been a while since I wrote on this blog. This was my first blog and I kinda consider it my journal. I mean I did until this last year. I enjoyed writing about my dogs, my kids, and family besides my writing. I’ve always felt it was a connection to my writing.

This year has been a different year for me. So many changes and losses. I lost someone dear to me this year. My Aunt Dolly. Technically, she was my husband’s aunt. But when I first moved to Boston, I lived with her until hubbie and I married. She was the sweetest woman. She opened up her home to me. An act of kindness I never forgot.

Colbie
My husband's mother suffers from Alzheimer's. She has had it for years but it has only been recently that she is in a nursing home. Alzheimer's is an awful, awful disease not only for the patient, but the family. My heart breaks watching my father-in-law and husband deal with the effects of this disease.

Then my own mother is dealing with her own issues. The hard part about my mother is that I live so far away. My siblings, nieces, and nephews take great care of her. She is smothered by love, but I'm not there.

Dexter
There have been some great things too this year. My hubbie and I celebrated our 25th Wedding Anniversary by taking the kids and my son's girlfriend to Ireland and England. A memorable trip. We feared it would turn into National Lampoon's Vacation, but it was perfect...a trip I will hold in my heart forever. But I believe that's what we make during our lifetime...memories to hold in your heart.

I was thinking about Dolly today while I was watering a Christmas cactus she gave me last year at this time. It made me smile.

Then I began remembering other Christmases. Every year when I was a young girl, I got my doll. I had to have my doll. It was all I needed. There was one Christmas I got a chemistry set I loved, but the main thing I remember as a child was the excitement on Christmas Eve. Spending the night with my cousins and exchanging gifts after dinner...and endlessly waiting while the adults finished their dinner. And my dear mother. Every Christmas she wanted a white Christmas which is quite rare in Mississippi.

Then came the changing of the times...getting older and Christmas changed. The magic of Christmas disappeared, but developed into a deep appreciation for the meaning of the season and time spent with family. My father, God rest his soul, had a heart condition. After his first heart attack, we never took time together for granted. Christmas was a special time for him. When my children we young and we tracked down to Mississippi, we were always late for Christmas Eve because of hubby's job. But Dad would wait for us to celebrate Christmas. My whole family waited and would envelope us with Christmas spirit.

The magic of Christmas returned after my children were born. I wish everyone could see the world through a child's eye. The wonder and merriment. So many wonderful memories even the time when my son got everyone up at four in the morning, but Santa had come and we were up. Or the time we got my youngest a Barbie doll house. We had hid it out in the shed...not a great idea. A mouse made a nest within the large cardboard box, but we must have moved the box because the mouse was squashed. Oh...I cleaned and cleaned and cleaned...and cleaned. She never knew until we told her a couple of years ago. She loved that doll house. Matter of fact, I have it packed away up in the attic for when she has a little girl.

This Christmas once more there is a changing of the times. Christmas Eve where we once spent it at my husband's family...isn't happening because of his mother. We are having everyone out for Christmas Day, but Christmas Eve is ours now to begin new traditions. My dad always said about change- "It's the way its suppose to be."

My wish to you this Christmas— make a memory.

Empty Nest Syndrome

What a lovely weekend. My hubby took me away for my birthday. Just for a day, but it was just what I needed. We went to the mountains, the White Mountains...a couple of weeks late for foliage, but it was beautiful. When the kids were little, we used to take them up to Storyland, a quaint little amusement park for little kids.

This day away though was for the two of us. A day away...from the house. It's been an adjustment not having any of the kids around...empty nest syndrome. This day away was a perfect remedy for it. For such a long time, my focus has been on the kids. Now they are living their own life. It's the way it's suppose to be...it's just I so enjoyed being their mother. Now is a different phase of my life, not bad, just different. It's not like I'm not their mother anymore. They still call when they need something...or miss home. It is different because no one is home. Don't have to worry about when one of them is suppose to be home. Only my doggies and hubby. It's too quiet.

Everyone says it a time to get to get to know your hubby again. So a night away. Hubbie booked us in a great bed and breakfast in Jackson, New Hampshire, Christmas Farm Inn. Lovely area. Lovely people. Lovely inn.

I so enjoyed it. Gave me a new perceptive on this phase on my life. I still enjoy my children, except now we talk about things like the election-my middle one is out to change the world and is so passionate about the issues-my youngest talks non-stop about new friends, classes, football games and of course how much warmer it is down there- my son lives near by. It was great to call on him to watch our doggies. Matter of fact, it was good to see him. He lives the closest and I probably see him about as often as the girls. But its the way its suppose to be.

Time changes. It's life. Just lucky to have someone to go through it with.

Have a great day!

Do you like Characters From Different Series Interacting Between Books?

ANOTHER NIGHT FALLS
I've a great week planned this week.

Tomorrow- Ocotber 15- is the release of Another Night Falls,  Part III of the Tides of Charleston.

Ya'll know that I love a good family saga and I'm kinda partial to American History. Another Night Falls is the end of the Tides of Charleston Series, but it isn't my only American Revolution saga.

RUSE OF LOVE
Winds of Betrayal series is set during the turmoil of the American Revolution exploding around two siblings, Hannah and Jonathan Corbett. When Jonathan is assigned to the Southern Continental Army down in Charleston in the second book of the Winds of Betrayal Series- Ruse of Love, Jonathan crosses paths with Sumner Meador. Sumner Meador- the hero in Another Night Falls! I admit I enjoyed having characters from different books and series interact.

In the first two books of the Tides of Charleston Series, Sumner is an interesting secondary character. Sumner is the half-brother of Catherine Blankenship and bastard son of a British Governor. Sumner shocks his sister by taking up arms against the British. Sumner has grown up in the wealth that his father's position and status allowed. So how could Sumner side with the Patriot cause?

Taking a small excerpt from The Promise when Catherine finds out that Sumner is a Patriot...

“Why would William lie? He knows we are loyal subjects to the crown!” Cathryn declared in fury.
“Calm yourself, Cathryn. Much has changed since you left. Your father, himself, was sympathetic to some of the unjust laws fostered upon the colonist,” Juriah said firmly. “Sumner said nothing because he knew you would react in the manner you have done. He didn’t want you upset with all you have gone through. In essence, it has no effect upon you as of yet.”
     “He couldn’t betray Father!”
“No, Cathryn, he would never betray your father. But he is young and brash and dreams the world as he wants to see it, fired by idealism to create a new world,” she said simply. “He loved the Colonel and admired him greatly. Did you know that the man that killed your father was from a leading Loyalist family? I believe there were many factors. You will need to talk with him when you get control of your feelings. Ask yourself if it’s so important at the moment?"

So from that excerpt, one can assume that Sumner is his own man set to make his way in the world.
The next excerpt comes from Ruse of Love...different series, but set in the same time and place...here Jonathan is riding along side Sumner.

Within the hour, Jonathan found himself mounted next to Major Sumner Meador. Meador himself headed out to his home, Elm Bluffs, with family issues of his own, but neither man exchanged specifics of their issues.
Riding in silence for a time, Meador said directly, “Something bothering you, Doc?”
Glancing over at Sumner, Jonathan shrugged. “Just wondering about how the whole of the army is handled here in Charles Town. Doesn’t it bother you? Men coming in and out. Running in battle. No one listens to the commander of the army…”
“Hold on, Doc,” Meador cautioned. “You don’t know these men, lived with them. I don’t know how it’s been where you’ve been, but down here, we’ve always looked after our own. These men have their families to look after. Leaving them alone means they’re unprotected from a lot more than ’em Brits. You haven’t seen a farm after an Indian attack and you don’t want to. Or try picking up the pieces after a raid. These men take a stand and it leaves their families vulnerable and they ain’t at home to protect ’em. So don’t sit in judgment of people you don’t know anything about.”
“I think it is an excuse, Meador. We all have our issues and losses. No, here everyone wants to be in command. Seems to take offense when given an order. If you ask me, men are looking for a reason to justify a grudge. We fight more with ourselves than the British…”
“Suppose you may be right,” Meador interrupted. “I’ve been around it too long to notice.”
Just didn't feel right, Jonathan thought, but he didn’t have time to contemplate more. Sumner eyed him.
"Now, I'm just wondering, Doc. Do you do that often?"
"Do what?"
"Make friends like you did. You know what I mean. Rile up the troops like you did yesterday."
"Said what needed to be said."
"If you think so," Sumner said plainly. "But I'll give you fair warning. You won't do that often around here and live."

A great start to a friendship...

Sumner Meadow's character screamed to me that he needed his own book. So here it is...
Another Night Falls...

A short excerpt....

Sumner settled the girl in the front bedroom of the house. He laid the mystery lady down on the bed. What the bloody hell had happened here? Who was this woman? She hadn’t the look of a homeless wanderer. Moreover what was she doing in his house?
The room looked as though she lived within it, littered with female garments. A dress hung over the back of a hardback chair. Slippers sat on the underside of the bed. Running his hand through his hair, his gaze fell back upon her. He studied her while he felt the bump on her head, a large bump.
With his touch, she began to mutter unintelligible words. At least he hadn't killed the poor thing. He hadn't known what to expect when he entered the stable and saw the horse. The house in the darkness had given no indication of someone lived in his house, no light, no noise. Seeing the horse put him on immediate alert.
He heard crackling of leaves and trigs when he dismounted. He eased off and waited. He attacked with the same force he would have a man. He hadn’t intended to harm a young woman, especially one as beautiful as she. Or was it the moonlight that had shone down upon her?
He watched her breathing. His eyes inspected her from her lovely face sweeping down her body to her bare feet. He hadn't looked upon a woman in this manner for a long time. The fabric of the white nightgown hung from her shoulders, leaving her arms bare and revealed the swell of her breasts, falling loose around her petite body. Her hair as dark as midnight hung, unbound, over her shoulders and down her back. He wondered what color her eyes were, but her features were fine.
Uncomfortable, she squirmed. One of her dainty hands folded into a fist and hit against the mattress, twisting and turning. Of course she was! He had knocked her out, but Lord, he must be in a bad state, for he couldn't take his eyes off of her. Questions raked his mind. Who was she? Why became clear as he thought. She was running, hiding. She had to be or she wouldn't be in such an isolated homestead. Was she running from her father, an abusive husband? In that he didn't know.
A few things he could discern about her while he watched her. She didn't frighten easily. She knew how to fight. And by God, she was beautiful.

Another Night Falls has it all...literally. Action, romance, adventure, intrigue...
Sumner Meador is one of my all time favorite characters. I look at him as the prototype for the American Cowboy. Read it and let me know what your think! Tomorrow!

ANOTHER NIGHT FALLS

ANOTHER NIGHT FALLS is coming. October 15th! The third book in the Tides of Charleston series.

COMING OCTOBER 15TH!

Sumner Meador walked in a world of wealth and privilege of Charles Town’s elite, but that was years ago. Now he fights in the Southern backwoods driven by the passion he holds for the Patriot cause, shadowed by his past. Reeling from a devastating defeat at the hands of the British, Sumner seeks haven at his farm, only to find an interloper, an unwelcome and unwanted distraction. He has no time for the young woman or the complications she brings with her, but soon discovers he has no option but to give aid to the stubborn, courageous beauty whether she wants it or not.

A widower, Sumner has been haunted by the death of his wife and is consumed with a desire for revenge. Jane Kilmer has been violently thrust into the midst of the civil war ensuing in the backwoods. Hiding from one of the most dangerous vigilantes, Jane trusts no one. Suddenly, she has no choice but to put her life in Sumner’s hands. Both desire revenge, but neither wants what happens-to fall completely, undeniably in love with each other- so much so, that both are willing to die for the other. And they might have to.

What's Your Favorite Genre of Romance?

What's your favorite genre of Romance? What's the book you pick up and cuddle under a blanket it with?

 FREE TODAY AND TOMORROW
Okay...don't hold back. Romances are fantasies. Aren't they? Isn't that the reason we read them? A few hours of escape from the real world around us.

The hero—it doesn't matter the genre—the hero is bold, daring, handsome, witty, intelligent, and rich. Larger than life. He's also displays his deep admiration and love for his heroine. We read to feel that spark of love between the hero and heroine.

So what type is your favorite? Contemporary? Fantasy? Historical? Paranormal? Or...ssh...erotica? Remember I said don't be shy about what you like. Figures don't lie—Fifty Shades of Gray was probably the most talked about book this summer. While I was traveling this summer, it's the book I saw in so many women's hands.

I don't think it's hard to figure out that I'm kinda lean toward historicals with a touch of paranormal. While I'm talking about historicals I'll just mention that Ruse of Love is free again today and tomorrow. I guess I'm an old soul. I love history. (Although I have confessed before, I'm going to write a book with a love scene on a private jet. )

So why I'm talking about the different genres of romance...because I have so many romance authors coming in for Octoberfest With Books. The first two weeks is totally romance. A group of authors from Wild Rose Press is coming in next week with Crescent Moon Press following the next week. I'm so excited to host everyone. I've gotten to look over the books...a lot of good-great- romances!

Should be a fun month! Don't miss out. Check out Novel Works during the month of October. This year I will be hosting Octoberfest With Books over on a new blog- Romance in Books, Romantic Picks just for you! Don't miss out for your opportunity to host Novel Works for a week.

FAMILY SAGAS...

I grew up reading family sagas growing up. My favorites included The Kent Family Chronicles by John Jake, The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough, The Mallens by Catherine Cookson, East of Eden by John Steinbeck…

Sagas draw us into the life and struggles of a family. We connect to their relationships with family and loves and the era the story is set. It is a glimpsean insight into the dynamics of a family structure.

What I enjoy about writing a family saga is there is no formula that you’re supposed to follow. It’s a life story. As we all know there are no formula’s in life. A sweeping story to become immersed within—one that would stay with you long after you have finished the book. Winds of Betrayal is such a series set in the turmoil of the American Revolution.

Patriot Secrets is set at the beginning of the conflict. Caught up in the fervor for liberty, the Corbetts soon learn there is a price to pay for their dream.

PATRIOT SECRETS

In the midst of the struggle for America's bid for independence, Hannah Corbett makes a fateful decision, descending into a world of deceit. Spurred by revenge, she heads to New York, setting in motion a dangerous game for which there is no return. Searching desperately for the man who betrayed her family, she faces the cold and brutal reality of the life of a spy. Caught in a web of lies, living with betrayal, she is trapped. She has nowhere to turn except to a man it would be treasonous to love, setting duty and desire at war. Her heart is ripped apart when she must choose between the man who risks his career and life to protect her and the only thing that has remained constant in her life...her belief in her cause.

One of the problems I had after Patriot Secrets was released—nobodyI mean nobodyseemed to understand that Patriot Secrets was a series. I think they thought they assumed it was a straight historical romance. I’ve always contended that Patriot Secrets is historical fiction. Oh, not that it doesn’t have romancebut the story itself doesn’t lend it to be a romance book. The story is bigger than just one hero and heroine.

Patriot Secrets was the first part of a book that I had called Before the Sun Sets. I split it in two. The second part Winds of Betrayal is already written. It just needs revisions, but when I picked the second part up to begin revisions, I came to the second chapter and set it down again. Something was missing. I needed a bridge book. So Ruse of Love, the second book in the Winds of Betrayal, came to life.

RUSE OF LOVE

The tides of war have shifted. When all eyes turn south, Doctor Jonathan Corbett finds himself once more thrust into the war’s turmoil. On assignment from General Washington, the dashing doctor discovers his mission has taken him straight into a conflict where the British are not the only ones to be feared.

Rebekah Morse has no time to contemplate the exploding war around her. Caught up as a pawn in a deadly conspiracy, she finds her only hope lies with her old friend, but things have changed since they last saw each other.

Yet destiny has not intervened in their lives without cause. Rebekah’s strength, courage, and breathtaking sensuality sets within Jonathan a desire he swore never to feel again. When Rebekah’s life is threatened, Jonathan is determined to save the stubborn woman whether she wants to be saved or not. Now Jonathan and Rebekah must face the perilous threat together—only to discover a passion they never imagined...

The third and final chapterthe explosive end to this sagais set to be released in 2013—Winds of Betrayal.
Ruse of Love can be read as a stand alone. You don’t have to read Patriot Secrets to enjoy Ruse of Love.

Enjoy the whole series. Start at the beginning. I also have another book coming out, Another Night Falls with Whiskey Creek Press (Part III of the Tides of Charleston series) in October, which correlates to the Winds of Betrayal series. Another Night Falls is set in the same Charles Town (Charleston, South Carolina) as Ruse of Love. It also has a few cross-over characters.

Have a good one! Keep reading!

THE HEART OF A ROMANCE NOVEL

Have you ever wondered why regencies do so well? Why are Billionaire series so successful? Why do we women love romance novels? The answer is quite simple. We love an escape from our lives if only briefly. I believe its true no matter how wonderful our life is...it's relaxing to fall under the spell of a magical book.

It's an escape from the ordeals of our ordinary life, don't you think? Not in a bad way. Remember that commercial...Calgon take me away. The phone is ringing; the kids banging on the bathroom door; hubbie calling out asking where something is; the dog running in the kitchen all muddy and shaking it all over the white cabinets... Life in general. Not a bad life...far from it...we love our lives, but its for a moment in time—while we have that book in hand—we women love to submerge ourselves in the fantasy that a romance novel delivers.

It's why I love to read romance novels; it's also the reason I write them. I'm going to let you in on a few little secrets. One of the reasons I love historicals is for the gowns and balls the heroine is bound to wear and attend. Going to a ball in one of those magnificent flowing gowns has always been one of my fantasies. Maybe it stems from growing up in the Bible belt. There weren't too many dances to attend. The other secret...I know without a doubt if I was in one of those gowns I would be transformed into Cinderella, a beautiful gorgeous princess.

Oh! But I can lose myself in contemporaries! I have a plan...a secret plan of writing a contemporary romance...before I die I have to write a love scene on the hero's private jet. You know it's why all those Billionaire Series are so successful...because you don't have to fly commercial. Now that I've brought this subject up—what about paranormal romances? Dark and forbidden, paranormal romances gives the romance author power over what goes bump in the night. For us readers, it gives us a glimpse into the dark side...can there redemption for our fallen hero?

What's your favorite type of romance novel? Does it depend on your mood? The story?

I have a great one for you— RUSE OF LOVE

EXCERPT
She needed not hear anymore. She spun on her heels, castigating herself as an absolute idiot. Rory was after her! Oh, what a fool she had been! She backed up, knocking into the table in the hall. The vase came crashing down. Trembling uncontrollably, she edged down the wall. Hearing hurried footsteps, fear encompassed her when she saw two men running up the staircase. Rory’s men! She panicked.

Bolting in the opposite direction, she headed for the back stairs. Her hope of slipping down the stairs undetected dissipated hearing the rumblings behind her. Rebekah quickened her pace, rapidly taking each step until she hit the first floor. She hit the back door running, struck by an impelling urge to get as far from the inn as possible.

Fleeing through the rainstormed night, she tried to peer through the pouring rain. She had gone some distance when she gasped for breath. Leaning against a brick building, she hadn’t a clue where she had run. Clasping her side against the pain, she blinked away the water streaming down her face, not knowing whether it was the rain or tears.

Suddenly a hand grasped her shoulder…

“Rebekah!” Jonathan fought the wind. Doubting she could hear him, he ignored the pelleting rain and rushed forward, grabbing her arm. In one swift motion, he swirled her around to face him.

Instantly, a look of sheer terror swept across her face. Slowly, recognition flooded her. She gripped tightly to his arm. “Oh, Jonathan!”

The next moment she collapsed into his arms. He wasted no time, but carried her down the street into the waiting carriage. A large black man quickly opened the carriage door for Jonathan. “Is she…?”

“She’s fine. She has only just fainted…”

“Jasper, Dr. Corbett, Jasper,” the old man said and closed the carriage’s door, but not before Jonathan heard the servant utter, “Thank the good Lord.”

Jonathan wrapped a blanket around Rebekah while he felt the wheels of the carriage move beneath him. He drew her into his arms and instinctually, she nestled into him. He stroked her head. As much as she claimed she had changed, she still inspired love and loyalty into those around her.

The wind picked up, shaking the carriage; the rain pounded harder. He was drenched and soaked. Strange—warmth spread through him he hadn’t felt in years.

“Jasper.” Jonathan set Rebekah down in the middle of her bedroom. A young blackie girl followed, frantically crying that her mistress was dead. No, Rebekah wasn’t dead, he thought. She had wakened and she wasn’t happy. “Jasper, shut the door and keep everyone else out.”

“Oh, Mistress Esther won’t like that none,” Rebekah’s maid uttered. “No sir.”

Jonathan shot her a look that silenced the girl. Rebekah pushed back from Jonathan, stumbling. Reaching out, he caught her arm. “Be careful,” he said in a harsh voice, his patience lost.

“Leave,” she answered his behavior. “You have done your duty.”

“Duty?” Jonathan’s voice rose. “Duty? You call looking for you in the midst of a torrential storm duty? Where was your head, Rebekah?”

“You would not understand,” she said. Her eyes flamed at him, but her hand reached down for her midriff; her hand trembled.

Immediately, he swept her back into his arms and carried her to the side of her bed. He motioned for the maid to step forward. “Get her dry clothes! She is to be put to bed.”

“Sully,” Rebekah said. “It is fine. I need only to get out of these wet clothes.”

Sully nodded, but fear shone in her eyes at Jonathan. She skirted to the wardrobe and withdrew a nightgown. Turning, she waited for Jonathan to leave, but he made no movement.

“If you don’t get her out of these wet clothes, I will.”

The young maid looked at Rebekah inquiringly, reluctant to begin undressing her mistress in front of a man.

“It is fine, Sully,” Rebekah said as she slung off her cloak. “Obviously, Dr. Corbett feels it is his duty.”

“I do.” Jonathan walked to the door. “I will be right outside. This is not over, Rebekah.”

He slammed the door behind him, shaking the wall. He found Jasper in the hall with a set of dry clothes for him. “Mistress Esther left these for you. You can change in the room down the corridor. I’ll take your boots to dry. It was some of Mistress Esther’s husband’s. Master Ian’s would be too small. She sent word to the others that Rebekah’s been found. I’ll stay here and make sure no one enters.”

“And Mistress Esther?” Jonathan asked.

“Said you can deal with Miss Rebekah.”

PATRIOT SECRETS
Last day PATRIOT SECRETS is FREE! Book One of the Winds of Betrayal Series!

Amazon Reader Review

Patriot Secrets is a stirring tale of war and valor as shown through the eyes of a young woman thrust into a situation she didn't want; of the man who loves her in spite of their being on opposite sides of the firing line, and of the consequences of the actions these star-crossed lovers must accept in order to survive.

RUSE OF LOVE

RUSE OF LOVE

Amazon Reader Review

I'll admit it, I like history so I have a tendency to read Regency romance. But, I was
so intrigued with a romance set during the American Revolution that couldn't wait to try it. After reading Ruse of Love, I can't wait to go back
and read Patriot Secrets. I loved the backdrop of the Revolution and how the author
took us from the battlefields to the high society of the South.
The story and mystery kept me guessing the whole time. Who was good? Who was bad?
The characters were well developed and I felt for them during this chaotic time in history.
The story wrapped up nicely and, since I don't want to spoil it, let's just say it was great!
If you like Kathleen Woodiwiss or are interested in the Revolution period,
you will love this book!

Praise for RUSE OF LOVE

"Ruse of Love weaves together a fine tapestry of romance and history. With intense emotion and passion the characters come alive on the page and engage you from the opening chapters. Author Jerri Hines has cleverly crafted her story around the war torn south with such rich detail it makes you feel as though you are right there in the midst of the American Revolution."

I always like easy way to enter...a comment, a like on Facebook either personal pages or fanpage including both Novel Works and Patriot Secrets. I have one more way this time...Romantic Picks. So lots of places, lots of ways to enter. Good Luck!

So the gift certificate at the end of the month...what about now!

Starting on August 5th, Patriot Secrets, Book One of the Winds of Betrayal series, will be free on Amazon for 5 days. August 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9th! In celebration of Ruse of Love coming out! Ruse of Love is set to be released on August 7th!

Could you read Ruse of Love without having read Patriot Secrets? Of course you could. Ruse of Love could stand alone, but some of the background will be better understood if you read Patriot Secrets first. One of my favorite historical series is John Jakes, The Kent Family Chronicles. I read the first book, The Rebels, first. I didn't even realize when I started reading there was one before it, The Bastard. My mother had read it; I picked it up from her. I loved The Bastard. I became a huge John Jakes fan from that first book, but I did go back and read The Bastard before I read the rest of the series.

So before Ruse of Love is released, get a FREE copy of Patriot Secrets! I also have a blog post over on Roses of Prose today...a character interview with Jonathan. Don't miss it! I had a great time with it! Remember to comment or like. Just enjoy August.

COMING AUGUST 7TH!
Have a good one! Keep Reading!

One Day at a Time

Klyemore Abby
I do still have the intention of writing about my trip overseas, but as you can tell I haven't gotten too far with that thought. Sometimes you just have to step back and take one day at a time. I had an absolutely lovely trip. I enjoyed my family and the sights along the way. The experience is one I will never forget.

I hope so because it may be a while before I write about it. When you go on vacation, it's like you disappear into a different world for a week or two. All your cares and worries dissipate, but they quickly reemerge the minute you step off that plane. During these times, you take it one day at a time.

So something has to give. At the moment one thing is this blog. There was so much I wanted to do to prepare for the Ruse of Love's release. It's still on schedule to be released early August; followed by Another Night Falls. But the rest of my writing has taken a backseat...

RUSE OF LOVE

I don't want to end this with everyone reading and feeling bummed. So I'm going to leave you with a couple of sayings I found online from 100 Funny Sayings, Quotes and Phrases...

The only way to keep your health is to eat what you don't want, drink what you don't like, and do what you'd rather not. - Mark Twain

The average woman would rather have beauty than brains, because the average man can see better than he can think.

"One of the great things about books is sometimes there are some fantastic pictures." -George W. Bush

Always remember you're unique, just like everyone else.

They made me smile. Hope you do too.
