Hope everyone is having a good Labor Day. Can't believe the summer's at an end. I'm going to have start preparing for my release, The Judas Kiss. I've been calling it the Judas Kiss for the last month or so. It was The Sun Will Rise, Part One. If I've learned one thing during this summer it is patience. It will be a year after I signed the contact before it's released! But the sequel should come six months after the first release (I hope).
I'm excited for The Judas Kiss or The Sun Will Rise which ever title is used. It's the first book of mine to be published with Charleston as the setting. Well, the story begins in Charleston. This book moves to England; then back to Charleston. Now, The Judas Kiss is broken into two parts. Orginially, I had it as one manuscript. I tend to write a tad long. So Whiskey Creek Press has broken it into two parts. After I wrote it, I wrote the sequel, Another Night Falls. I"m hoping that makes out the Tides of Charleston series.
Charleston is great setting for a story. When it was first settled, Charleston was known as Charles Town. So rich in history. People with fire in their blood. Even The Winds of Betrayal series, the second book after Patriot Secrets, is set in Charleston. The American Revolution's South Campaign is a fascinating tale. If you watched the movie The Patriot, you could get a feel of the conflict.
In my writings I used Drayton Hall as inspiration for the home of my heroine. I love the history surrounding Drayton Hall. Even my Civil War novel I'm revising I used Drayton Hall as the inspiration for the mansion I used in that story. When we went this summer to Charleston, it was one of my first stops. Drayton Hall has not been renovated, but kept in its original state as best as they can perserve it. Drayton Hall has survived since the American Revolution even during the Civil War where many plantations homes were burnt to the ground.
So over the next few months, I will be revisiting Charleston, taking a look at the place where so much history has happened.

I know. When I went there, it was just as I pictured it. Lovely. Loved the Ashley River running along side of it. Now I'm a member of their perservation society.
