A LITTLE TIME TO SAY THANK YOU!

I need to take a quick moment to say a thank you for everyone that helped make the Alzheimer's Walk a success. It was a beautiful day and the turn out was amazing. With a disease that you don't have a lot of control over, it was nice to feel like you were finally able to do something.

A while ago I did a blog on one of my nephew's, Mikey, An Aspiring Author. It has been one of my favorites. I have promised his brother, Eddie, I would do an interview on him. Time...time...time. Where does it go? I have to sit down with Eddie and do my interview. Which brings me to my point today. I wish I had the time Sunday to have interviewed Eddie about the walk. I took this great picture of him. So interesting to see things from a child's perspective.

He told me it was a great day to walk. "Everyone gets to get some fresh air together," he said. "And we can help Nana."

My children were lucky. They are older. They have a million great memories with their grandmother. The younger grandchildren have missed out on knowing on just how wonderful a lady their grandmother had been. At the walk you heard time after time another story about the loss of a love one. Alzheimer's affects everyone no matter your intelligence or social background.

But the walk brought everyone together, like Eddie, said to walk with the same purpose.
